Now if we could only get them to do away with the gill netting that just so happens to affect those same threatened and endagered species... we would be onto something!

The things I hate the worst (worse than pelicans & sea lions) & would love to see shot & killed are those damn black cormorants since they've gotten to be so many of them damn things it's awful! Not only they get a lot of the planter trout in most Idaho waters but they are hard on the perch population in a lot of lakes. A good cormorant is a dead one!

Makes me wonder how much of our yearly license fees goes to feeding those white feathered varmints across the state.
Personally I think they should be listed as such (varmints). I can't imagine being able to shoot one leagley would do much to the overall population. As they would not exactly be that easy to shoot with a shotgun. It would however be nice to push them off our prized bodies of water by folks taking shots at them on a regular basis. I know I would give up a few shells to the cause!

Ever since they cleaned out the remnants of my favorite bass reservoir last summer after it was drawn down, I have hated pelicans. Especially after learning how much they eat every day.

I hear you, the cormorants sound pretty awful. I'm glad there aren't many down my way. Yet. The pelicans on Condie last year were in a group of over 150 birds on that little puddle. After hearing they eat at least a couple pounds of fish a day each, I'm pretty disgusted by the whole thing. I sure hope we get some more precipitation as I don't want a repeat on one of the surviving reservoirs.

I think I'll add "Sea Lion Shooter" to my list of jobs I'd do for free, right after the guy who gets to shoot wolves from a helicopter. Happy happy happy!!
