Well i have gotten a new medium action spinning rod. And even with the light action pole after i would catch the fish i would just throw is back and forget about it. I hold it on the bank and let it get its strength back. I am a better fisher now and have landed huge fish on this new rod that swim off now problem. I rarely fish on a boat. Caught a 7-10lb'er a few days back i didnt have the scale.
