NO you can do it ,just be more carefull.light action is good ,point the rod to the fish,keep the good line you used,and try again,its more challenging this way.look at this 4lber I got on this twig rod pic86,I broke one just bending it a little,plus its a telescopic rod.They offer rewards any fish over 5lb,or 1000 bucks for any record of any species.100bucks for 5lb fish.Damn I tried.broke one on a big bass at glades.Pen rod.Get in a boat to get around all these stumps or excuses,sorry to be so hard on you ,just tryng to influence your life ,this bass nearly got me around a floating bouy.its all part of the fun.I recently switched to light action.,got a tica 500,and had an ll,bean,but it went overboard[frown]I jumped for it ,I tried but there were alligators .Catching some 5lb peacockbass is just crazy,sometimes use leader.one 5lber,with no leader on live bait,4lb test firelinepic 37 is one I broke on landing,I held rod by the middle,bent to much,plus strong fish.I use cheap rods cause they are going to break anyway,I usually add an extension to the handle,and save the backhalf of the rod,usually I just change out the first half,with the tip side.Here they were 6.99,now went up to$ 7.99 durango shakespere.So, you I can do it! ,even pulled up a 2lb porgy from 100feet of water.
