realy? why?
on a couple lakes in my area I spicificaly go out and catch me a couple perch to use as bait on the same lake I am fishing,
we are not alloud to take them from one lake to another just like in Tenn, but we are aloud to use a leagaly caught fish to use as bait for a bigger fish..
I take the perch and set up a pike rig or walleye rig. the perch I use is usualy 4-6 inches. I'll use a bigger perch if I know there is a monster pike under the ice... Its kind of hard to keep a monster pike a secreat, usualy every one will have run in to it, broke a line on it, run under their hole...
I will set them up under a big bobber in the summer months as well....
in the st clair river I will use goby, "an invasive species" I cut them and use them as bait for stergeon and chanel cats... we are not aloud to release them back in to the water alive... so most of the goby caught I feed to the seagulls...
