I'm just curious what line most people prefer for panfish. I have a favorite, but it is really hard to find. I'm wondering if I'm just too picky. I'm allowing people to vote for more than one option. My favorite is not listed as an option.........

I voted for 6 lb mono. If the conditions are right and with some super ultralight gear I like using 4 lb mono also. What line do you use? I have been experimenting with p-lines clear colored blends of mono and flouro coated mono as of late.. Very impressed.. I got a tip that clear line was the most invisible as I was using p lines Moss green extra strong mono, I like p line, made in Japan have had great luck in recent years.

Actually, I think my favorite is P-Line fluoroclear in 5 lb variety. Very hard too find.
I think 6 lb limits a lot of bites as it is too big, too stiff, and too visible. I think 4 lb is too weak for me and I break off too much. 5 lb in my opinion is just right, but as I said, it is very hard to find.

I usually use 1lb diameter Power Pro with a leader of 6lb Seaguar Invizx. That's also my drop shot rig for bass most of the time so I already have a reel rigged up with that.

I voted for 6 lb mono but a lot of it depends on how clear the water is, recently I was trolling with 12 lb mono on one rod and 15 lb mono on the other rod and picked up a limit of crappie. That was the first time to ever do that, most of the time I'm casting a jig, with or without a bobber and fishing much slower but these big 12 to 13" slaps were chasing down a lipless crank at 1.7 mph[crazy].

Speaking of hard to find. I really like 5# Maxima.
I have just started using the Seagar Yellow on my bait caster and so far I am really liking it. So going to order some 6 and 4 pound to try it out.

I voted for 6 lb mono, too elaborate a little bit, I use a 20lbs braid for my main line both soft water and hard water for my jigging rods and some of my dead sticks, I use a 2 ft. section of 6 lbs mono for a leader with a good swivel connecting the two, if the water is super clear I will lengthen the leader, but I have not ran into that problem very often.
