well 2014 was a great year for me, my fishing started out rough with me switching careers to being a OTR driver[inline IMG_400234203884650.jpeg]
but I didn't let that stop me from doing what I truly enjoy. and that is fishing, I got a late start but in may I got a first and that was a crappie on my fly rod[inline IMG_399961944339436.jpeg]
I also got another first in the later parts of fall that being this[inline IMG_399636732528090.jpeg]
that is my first brown on a mouse pattern fly[inline IMG_399648248932789.jpeg]
got a picture of his stunning
also..
this year I found myself also achieving a best for river small mouth[inline IMG_400180063490944.jpeg]
not huge but by darn he was fun.
I concentrated mostly on trout this year and carp. here is a series of trout rainbows and one brown[inline IMG_400272576660473.jpeg][inline IMG_400263441302624.jpeg][inline IMG_399869652442604.jpeg][inline IMG_399784019450093.jpeg][inline IMG_399683771411039.jpeg]
and of course some browns also, including my beautiful wife's personal best.[inline IMG_399572285343602.jpeg][inline IMG_399600167626522.jpeg][inline IMG_399590444995667.jpeg][inline IMG_399617950504590.jpeg]
but what trout year wouldn't be completed without a couple cuts[inline IMG_399829369152513.jpeg][inline IMG_399662830956287.jpeg][inline IMG_399768761827631.jpeg][inline IMG_399817307898127.jpeg]
and I managed this lovely rainbow also[inline IMG_399693640570201.jpeg]
he had such amazing colors.
now like I said I also chased some carp this year a majority of them with the fly rod. managed a few healthy subjects.. you love them or hate them.. I love them sure they are not pretty in most terms. but in their own way they are unique.. they will give you that big fish tug when nothing else will play..

I even did what many told me to be impossible, [inline IMG_399926476095888.jpeg]
hauled in a double hookup on a pair of mirrors my boy helping me show them off..
here are a few more pictures of my wife and two boys holding their carp from the year..[inline IMG_399892305395449.jpeg][inline IMG_399906144431002.jpeg][inline IMG_399915161095126.jpeg]
in all the travels of the year scene some beautiful[inline IMG_541943852529551.jpeg]
even played in some beautiful places.[inline IMG_399755226927587.jpeg]
caught some strange beasts[inline IMG_400143053510786.jpeg]
and played with the local wild life (juvenile rattler)[inline IMG_119034452157914.jpeg]
in the end though remember its all about having fun[inline IMG_400049947910309.jpeg]
and always keep an eye out for the monsters of the deep.. ( 11' sturgeon Bonneville dam)[inline IMG_400116307592890.jpeg]
and to conclude, my 2014 was an epic year fished with a few great fishing buds. scene a lo of new places and caught a lot of nice fish..
