Well, it's almost time to put in for hunts once again. I'm kinda getting excited about it already seeings how there's no ice to fish on.
I'm looking forward to drawing my deer tag next year but having a hard time deciding on what cwmu or limited entry unit to put in for. I'll have 12 points and would really like to draw so I can start putting in for elk again.
Does anyone out there have any recommendations on where would be the best place for a 180 or better deer. I know I can't draw the best LE units but there are some great cwmu's out there. Anyone have some good advice or experiences they would care to share would be appreciated very much.

Nobody out there has had any cwmu's hunting experiences they want to talk about?

You should be able to draw Vernon... And there's 180" deer out there... I'm not sure about cwmu's

Thanks for the info, I can probably draw the Vernon unit but I don't know if it's guaranteed that I will and I really want to draw for sure next year so I can start putting in for elk again. I will definitely look at it though because this is going to be the last time I will be putting in for deer due to my age. Never thought I'd see the day come when I'd be looking at my last draw deer hunt. Thanks for your help

If ya want to visit about Vernon, PM me if you'd like. I have lived and ranched out here my entire life. And I guided for 12 years when my brother outfitted. I may be able to point ya in a spot or two where you could thump a buck.

It was in a buck killed on the rifle hunt in town there. Wondering if you had been hunting in the area.

A friend if mine talked to some locals there this year that told him about it. It was killed in little valley I guess.

I haven't bowhunted on the Vernon unit since 2000 so ya cant blame me. And I missed 1 buck before I killed my buck. Why would you think I had arrowed a buck just because I live and ranch out here?[:/]
