Ok went back to boulder beach Saturday night about 9:30 pm determined to stay until sun up. Well I guess we didn't get the memo because we were the only boat out there. No one else was fishing the beaches. Once again no striper action. We stayed till grey light. we used lots of chum and changed baits regularly. Lots of fish jumping I mean a lot more than usual. we had the lights in the water, tornado of baitfish under the boat. It was a great setup, just no fish. EXCEPT I brought a 5 gallon bucket of Milo. We finally caught seven 2-3 lb cats and one striper. These cats were fat fat fat. Thought they might still be preggers but nope. we got home and cleaned them. They were full of milo and hominy. Yeah we threw in some hominy too. Man what a weird night just to catch nothing but cats on boulder beach. We wouldn't have done that if it wasn't for the milo. Catfish tast better anyway. We headed over to the wash at grey light and chased the boils. Lots of hits but they were not very enthusiastic. Caught a few small ones that's all.
Anyway was glad to see a good old southern chum like milo work out here. It was a good night for sure.
Happy fishing
