SE Idaho Stillwater Conditions?
#1
Just trying to plan out my fall stillwater trips...which usually includes one trip to Henry's Lake in Oct along with a trip each to Chesterfield, Daniels, Springfield Res and Hawkins Res....fishing them all through Oct and into Nov so long as I can find open water to fish.

I was near Blackfoot Res a couple weeks ago and the water is green as pond scum...so is the river below....so Sad.

Just wondering later levels and water conditions on these lakes. Hawkins is one of my favorites...a real sleeper IMHO. I hope it is fishable this fall and I hope the lakes don't winterkill this year.

From what I can tell all the ones you mentioned are fine for this year. I am not sure about Chesterfield as I have heard reports going both directions.

Hawkins got pretty low this year by October it could fill up some. In august the ramp was out of the water a ways. I live about 20 min from hawkins and about 25 min from chesterfield. According to the marshvalley canal company chesterfield will.be drained tell November . Because after September 30 when irigation season ends the marshvalley hydro plant starts up and runs tell mid may. The lower portneuf will be running great but anything above the hydro plant is going to.be low low low.

I drove by Hawkins today on my way home.

It is very low. There is about 20 feet of gravel showing below the boat ramp. When Hawkins is full it is only about 20 feet deep at the dam. So you can take a guess at the depth by how much of the dam is showing.

Here is also a picture of the upper end.

I am guessing that all of the reservoirs are really low right now. Ask Santa for lots of snow this year!

I don't think they are taking more water out, so hopefully it is at its lowest.

Water color didn't look too bad. The tops of the weeds are showing in the large shallow weed areas.
