In case you didn't know and were going after those pesky rockfish here in Southern California, most of the 3/4 and 1/2 day open-party sportboats are now on their Winter schedules.
1/2 day boats commonly leave at 9 or 10am on week days and a little earlier on week-ends. 3/4 day boats commonly depart at 7am but some boats stick to the 6am departure year long. And.... like the 1/2 day boats, sometimes the week-end departure times are earlier than the week-day ones. The best thing is to call. Remember to find out when the office opens as opposed to when the boats leave to plan your trip, especially if you like a certian spot on the boat and the landing honors first come first serve.
