Shame, Shame and SHAME ON YOU!!!
#1
I’m sorry, so please understand on this [Image: icon_evil.gif] [Image: icon_evil.gif]

During our recent trip to PV on the 28th of Jan., some so called humans who should know better are plainly and simply P-I-G-S and let me re-emphasize P-I-G-S. [Image: icon_evil.gif]

In one area we found crammed/smashed into the frozen slush layer a 6Pk of empty Budweiser cans, partially burnt Budweiser box, plastic/foam bait containers, lure wrappers, cigarette butts, propane bottle caps etc froze and stuck to/into the ice.

Do these folks believe the ice would magically dissolve this trash? [Image: icon_evil.gif]

Areas were cleaned up with pounding, kicking and scraping to break ice away to pry cans and lure containers out. We'll need to bring a chisel next time and WE WILL.

Truly amazing just how little respect some so-called dare I even say...HUMANS have for all of our shared environments’.

I am not buying for one red cent or even a frick’n nano second these folks were ‘that’ drunk. Totally inexcusable!!! [Image: icon_evil.gif] [Image: icon_evil.gif] [Image: icon_evil.gif]

Whatever specimen of low-life human you may be, one thing is certain beyond a shadow of a doubt, you have no respect for the environment and are plainly and simply a self-centered and disrespectful when it comes the environment.

Now and I'm thinking, unfortunately you’re probably not members of any internet fishing forum so you and your self centered disrespectul buds will probably never read this… boy I do hope you are on the various forums and read this to see how someone else cleaned up your TRASH and total disrepect for the enviroment you and your buds had.
For those of us that enjoy the outdoors, the [Image: icon_oink.gif] need to understand this isn't your own trash laden home, yard, garage, man-cave or whatever. Its the enviroment thats shared with other folks and a variety of animals and finned critters besides self centered I don't give a crap low lifes you obviously are.

Sorry but I had to rant and vent on this one...I just can't comprehend how some folks can leave their trash knowingly on the ice and crammed/smashed into the ice...what planet are you from???

I hope those folks read this and the little voice we each have says your are a PIG and stop leaving your trash in Mama natures home.

Finally the DWR was contacted and I was informed and it was confirmed the Wardens will be making more visits onto PV ice looking for the P-I-G-S and their litter along with and wanton wasting of fish.

I understand your feelings K2. Tube Dude has brought the subject of the same thing at the knolls at U.L. Last year there was a huge campaign with many volunteers to clean up this relatively small area. Tons of trash were hauled off and in 2 weeks it looked like there had been no clean up effort at all. This year someone celebrated New Years on the ice at the Pump House at Utah Lake leaving all there spent fire works: Cones, bottle rockets etc all over hell. My fishing partner spent a great deal of time digging the stuff out of the ice and placing it into a trash bag brought along for just this occasion....Come on people... If we see this stuff going on we should politely mention it to the guilty parties and hope it doesnt escalate into violence. I dont understand it. But as you said no respect for our outdoor environment or others that use the areas. Thanks for being one that cares.

not cool at all. cannot stand when everytime ive been ice fishing this year someone seems to leave trash whether it be beer cans, bait cups ciggarette butts or anything of that nature. i always end up picking up other people trash when im out on the hard deck and thats part of the reason why i bring a garbage sack with me. i mean if everybody treated our lakes, reservoirs, and streams like those kind of people every lake would go to $@#%. its disgusting and who wants to look at all that trash at a lake when part of the reason we all fish is to get out and enjoys the outdoors and great scenary utah has to offer. Its almost like going to any local place or park and just throwing your garbage wherever you want on the ground, cmon people its called a garbage can, USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks for posting this K2 muskie people need to be aware, i wouldnt think the members on here would be doing that but hopefully people visting the site to look at reports see this and realize its not cool.

Thanks for cleaning up someone else's trash. Hopefully the view doesn't turn into a trash bin like parts of Utah lake.

I guess that way you can keep them from breeding more filthy vermin spawn. Though it would be satisfying to have them pee blood [Smile]

Mighty good post! I'm behind you 100%. I always pick up after the TRASH that leave their trash behind and if I see someone leaving trash, say something to them. Time was I'd get physical if I had to but now I just shame them & hope for the best. When I'm at UL, I usually strap my 9mm. on. Minimizes the BS.

I had a similar experience this summer at Smith and Moorehouse. I left with an entire trashbag full of dirty diapers, beer cans, general trash, and anger! It will always baffle me and I'll never really understand why such people do these things.

Wow K2 ... now tell us how you really feel. [:p]

But seriously, it is really a shame that anyone has to ever witness such a situation as what you did. Some people that leave their trash behind like that are nothing more than human rodents.

Thanks for sharing.

It's too bad, that you would actually have to pack some heat just to avoid problems while trying to enjoy the outdoors. There are some people that are just trashy no matter where they are. At least there are still those of us, that can at the very least clean up after ourselves. Kudos to those willing to clean up after someone else's mess.

Same goes for the people that bring their dogs onto the ice and leave that mess for everyone else to deal with. Always makes for an awesome trip when you are the lucky one to step into some of that.

But as you said, its probably the people that don't get on the forums and could care less. Good thing there are sportsmen out there who do care and clean up after these dirtbags.

psssst - it's the L - U - R - K - E - R - S !!!!!

And damn! I thought she was gonna tell us about some scumbag Musky Poachers!

Ah - nothing like diapers down a hole to make yer day!
I can understand in crazy conditions - maybe something blows across a lake, and gets away from ya, but - um, er - yeah, not so much. Kudos for your cleanup, and concern!

Hope you don't mind some sunflower shells. I got some buds hooked on their spits, and quite honestly - it's a sign that they've been on a good spot! (well, that and the powerbait glowing in the hole!)

Ya know I used to farm some property Next to a lake and events changed to where the property was opened up to the public and almost immediately the junky jerks rolled in with all the trash they left behind made it a total mess and each time you cleaned it up they would return and deposit a new load. And they wonder why land owners don't open up their ground. The main problem is there are too many that don't care and they ruin opportunities for the rest of us. They need to tie fishing privilege to littering offense and take away that privilege with a second offense. Not that it would stop them because they probably don't have a license to start with. Anyway enough of my preaching to the choir.

This subject comes up a few times a year. Once again, if you want the trash removed, you have to remove it. The idoits that left it there are not coming back. I have made a habit of keeping a few kitchen garbage bags with me. I pick up what I can. I dont even get that pissed anymore, I just pick it up, throw it in the truck. Dont ever think that everyone thinks like you, they dont. It's just the way it is !!

Violence is bad? PLEASE let someone escalate the situation if I issue a stern warning about littering on the ice.

I'll help do my part to promote natural selection.
