Got off work early and had some time before my softball game (inside the park homerun!) so I headed out to 33 hole with my brother around 2:30pm. I really did not expect much action since its still crazy hot out, and for the first hour only got one 3ish lb catfish and nothing else. Suddenly I started seeing shad jumping all over so my brother and I threw on some spoons and did pretty well for probably a half hour or so. They were digging the classic red devil, which got me stoked. The frenzy just kept going, though we had to relocate around the cove a bit to keep up with the school. I only got stripers (nothing too huge) but my brother managed a few largemouth mixed in, including one that was probably 4 lbs. We got off the water by 5:30. Sorry for not having pics, but the action was hot and I was desperately trying to hook up a bucketmouth so I did not bust out the camera at all. Next time.
