Cecret Lake Question - help please?

Gday,

I am going to take my 2 girls for a hike up to Cecret Lake at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Are there fish in there?
Is it legal to fish in there?

Ging up today so if you can answer today would be fantastic.

Thanks anyway, we ended up driving up to Silver Lake and walked around. Threw a lure in but heart wasn't really in it. Very populated, shallow and full of weed. But, got the girls out for a walk and some sunshine so it was all good. Gonna head up to Deer Creek in the Yak at sunrise tomorrow and see what happens. Will post how I went good, bad or indifferent.

Good luck at Deer Creek. Fish deep my friend. As far as I knew the DWR does not stock the Cecret Lake at Alta. It is fairly shallow so winter kill is a major problem up there. One year a large avalanche came off Sugarloaf Peak and it "pushed" the ice up and over to the Northern end of the lake. It was quite the spectical that winter.

Didn't hook up on anything on Sunday (Usually do alright at the Deer) but a beautiful day on the water no less. Heading up to the Gorge Friday arvo for a couple of days with my young fella to see what we can do.
