My family has been camping in the Uintas for over thirty years now. This was year twenty in the same campgrounds. When we pulled in on Tuesday we were greeted by new signs saying that you could have 8 people in a camp but only one tent, one vehicle, one trailer. Who can take eight people camping for a week and only use one tent, one vehicle, one trailer? We only had twelve people but four tents and three trailers. Two couples in trailers, one Great grandfather in a trailer, Two couples in tents along with a boys and girls tent for grandchildren. The camp host came in saying it wasn’t his rules but the forest service and it was to protect the camp grounds. Of course after we paid for a third camp ground we weren’t using then the camp grounds were safe and our group had no impact. By paying for a site we were not using and they could sell again each night the forest was somehow saved. So we used two, paid for three and technically should have been in four. How many people can really take eight people out camping for a week with these types of rules?
