Good trip to Vermont. Came home last night because it was going to rain up there on Wednesday. Well got to drive home in a down pour. Only weather that I didn't fish in.
Fished St Catherine in Wells on Saturday. Got up at 4:00 AM to 25 mph winds and a down pour. Back to bed for a hour and out to breakfast. Got on the main lake @ 7:30 and fished the main lake until noon. Water was 55* and a north wind @ 15/25. Skies cleared so I threw gold white spinners, a buzz and a senko. Landed 4 SM (3-14) 2 LM (2-14) Went south to Little Lake until 4:00. Water temps were still cool @ 60*. Landed 12 LM biggest was 4-2 on a white fluke. Balance were between 1 1/4 to 3-10 lb. Mostly white fluke and a senko. 21 for the day.
Sunday went up to Champlain and launched @ Larabees at 6:00 AM. Dead calm, water was 58* a few clouds. Could not make it happen. Worked the south side of the ferry with buzz, cranks, white fluke and a senko. Inside / out with a 2 lb LM. Off to the RR track south of the Fort. Wind picked up real quick with it blowing 15/20 out of the north. Slim pickings. Headed to Chapmans Point to get out of the wind for a while. So did 5 other boats. Disappointed with the day,off at noon. 4 for the day.
Monday woke up to 31* temps but suppose to be in the high 60s latter. Off to breakfast. On St Cats @ 8:00 and headed for Lilly Pond on the North end. Water temps were 60* with a 5/10 mph north wind. Blue bird skies-white blue spinner. 9 LM (4-0) four more over 3 lb. Water temps rose to 64*. Headed south at noon to Little Pond until 3:30. Landed 7 more LM (4-4) smallest was 2-8. 17 for the day.
Tuesday back to St Cats (why not) Started in the boat ramp channel and headed south to Little Lake. Was actual warm at 42*. Water temps were 62, blue bird skies and calm. Wake baits and senkos. Loads of action but not the big one I was looking for. 20 LM(3-7). Got off the water @ 2:30 to head home.
62 Bass, one 6 lb pike and 500 rock bass.
I saw lots of beds, both bass and blue gill, but didn't catch one mama that hadn't spawned or one with a beat up tail. Go figure.
