Pelican?

I know i'm getting ahead of myself but... when do you guys think I will be able to get on Pelican with my boat this year. As i'm sure everyonelse is, I'm going crazy with fishing withdrawls and i want to find the female bass (6.8 lb) i caught and released last year. I told her to grow to 8lbs. and find me in the spring. Any advice for this gal-thanks![cool] Attached is the big girl

KMBG - I am heading out in two weeks, weather permitting. It's cold but the fish want to play. Going to mix it up and throw bigs baits for the bass and then switch it to size 10 and 12 chironomids for the bluegill on the #3 weight. Hope to see you there that weekend.

Thanks for your reply Hockeyman-Do you think it will be ice free in a couple of week? That would be awesome, won't be able to go up that weekend if it's the 24th as I will be turning the big 50[laugh] but will look forward to hearing from you after your trip ,and if everything is open will prob head up the first weekend of May. I have a tournament up at Pelican the second week of May. The plan is to fish the junk. In years past the shallow waters that are covered with reeds and moss don't get stirred up by the wind and warm up faster. Weather permitting their should be some pre-spawn males cruisiing the shallows. (fingers crossed)

Hi fish4fun thanks for your reply-a tournament at Pelican sounds awesome is there anyway I can participate-if not no worries but if so could you send me some info on how to get started. Someone said they were taking thier boat out to Pelican the weekend of the 24th do you think it will have open water by then. Hey you people in Vernal reading this have you checked out the lake ?
