Well it looks like we may have stumbled on a way to get rid of the carp. Of course the tree huggers will be totally against it.

I say bring it on! Let the commercial fisher dudes use their nets to scoop up all the floaters! Less collateral damage on the kitties and eyes.

Im all for getting rid of Carp in UT lake hell Im all for getting rid of all carp every were but a VIRUS...[shocked] think of the corrlateral damage that could occur if you read the whole article.
Reed Harris states
"Well, the disease down at Mohave affected a lot of other fish besides carp."
(I know Reed Harris he use to be my neighbor he a very intelligent person.)
Also what if the virus mutates in a strain that effects more than carp [:/] Birds and animals will be gorging on these dead fish who knows what bacteria and virus's the host already carrying. The strain could combine becoming even more deadly killing anything in its wake.
I dont think anybody wants a deadly case of fish herpes [crazy][crazy] We've already seem pandemics of swine & bird flu now fish flu... [pirate]
Not to make litely of the issue but never good to integrate a virus into a uncontrollable wild habitat.

I'm not sure if its good or bad... But we do have lakes that only or mostly just have carp in them and the water only goes on crops...One that I can think of is Pelican, it has only a few carp and none of the water from there goes to any other lakes or streams so maybe they could test it there.... Another lake mite be Yuba, the water from their only go so fare and dries up....
Just a thought...
