Fished from 8:00-midnight and caught a ton of mudcats, 3 big carp and a nice channel cat. It was good to get out. My brother caught the big cat as usual. All were caught on medium sized shrimp.

The a big cat. I'm seen some nice one up here but none quite that big. If you don't mind me asking, where were you fishing.

We were in the Benson Marina area + or - a few miles. We used to fish it a lot and caught quite a few bigger in the past, including a 19 1/2 lb my brother caught about 8 years ago. Big shrimp and alittle current and you can find cats all over out there.

The biggest problems I've had in the Benson area in the past is keeping the mud cats off my hook. I've never really used shrimp before. I'll have to try it out.

Use big shrimp. It helps keep off the mud cats. They will nibble on it and pull it around, but most of them won't be able to fit it in there mouths.
