need shorefishing tips
#1
Hello, I'm heading tfo hiltonhead tomorrow and plan to do some shore fishing while I'm there. I'm use to fishing in the lakes of Utah and Idaho and havent done a whole lot of ocean fishing. Does anyone have any advice for catching anything of the larger size fish from the shore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

surf you need a long rod to get past the breakers on a pire it really don't matter. 10 to 20lb test would be good line. Mud minow or srimp good bait. Bait cast reels work good for me unless I use a light lure.I sometimes use a Storm 3in pearl white swim bait for flounder in the creeks. Might work good for you since your into lake fishing. I was down just last weekend got 8 flounder , only 3 keepers and some whiting. People were jiging up some nice spanish mackerel on the pire useing gold hooks , not sure of the size of hook. 12 to 13ft rods. I got sun burn and didn't feel up to it. I am red..good luck
