We hit the chick today out of HBSP from 11:00 to 3:30. Ran upstream some to fish a cove or 2 we caught crappie in last year. Water temp there was about 53. Caught a couple of bream on minnows and panfish assassins. No Crappie. Moved out to some mainlake docks .... notta ... water temp there was 50. Went to the bluffs, caught 1 keeper crappie, a couple of spaaats, several drum (no drum larger than 3 lbs), and missed a bass that looked 4 to 5 lbs... unhooked right at top of the water emoBang ... hung something big on a dropshot... fought it for about 5 mins and it stayed in 30+ feet of water. Big ol' head shake.... it finally came unbuttoned... would like to have seen it. Moved to a couple of flats, throwing rattle baits and carolina rigs ... nothing there either. Was a fun day. Kind of cool for 74.. wind was really blowing today. Check out these spaaats... FAT ... not huge, but the bellies were over extended for sure. Glad to get out and try today anyway emoTongue
