Well got skunked on the first trip out so far this year. We casted some silver buddies, spinnerbaits, and rattles. No bites but that wasn't the reason we went out, just happened to be a perk. what we were doing out was trying the boat out. I have gotten everything done, and with the knoledge from James (wrenchin), Nichols Outboard Engeneering and the lu rebuild was out on the water. The boat ran like a top. We wre in breakin, so was just running from 3000-3400 rpms thorouhout the day and varying stopping here and there fishing doing to cooling cycles. We ran from grasshopper down the hiwassee and back. It was a 40 mile round trip and made it back with just a little bit of gas to spare ( 6 gallons). Went home tested eveything to make sure that a cylinder wasn't lost again, and had a 155 comp. on each cylinder. I thought that would be the furtherest I would be going anyways probably and the engine never got hot. I wish we would've had time to fish more, but with the waves on the main river, it was darn near impossible. Just felt good looking at eveything, and having the relief of getting it fixed. I feels very gratifying to know that I actually took this engine apart and put it back together and it runs better than the people I bought it from taht had rebuilt it. Thanks to james, he did the lu and helped with making sure things were right, it like new. Well to let all know why the lower cyl blew, it overheated due to the idiots that I bought the powerhead from didn't replace the sending unit for the hot horn, so I never knew. can't wait for some dogfights and tounments now.
