Jet Sled Mods
#1
Added some more to the mods, needed some holders while I am moving from place to place and just sitting there.[Wink]

Just thought I would share with you a project I have been working on for a portable windbreak.

This was made with 3/4" pvc. I had most of the stuff already so I don't know what the cost would be, but I am sure it would still be reasonable.

The bottom part of the rack is semi permanant on the sled and the rest comes apart and goes into the duffle for transporting. I do believe it will easily pull around while set up if the wind isn't to bad, (haven't tried it out yet, this Saturday will be it's debue)

The wooden box (need to figure out a lighter storage system, there) holds the rods, gear, sonar and bait. The buckets hold my tipdowns and misc.

There are 2 buckets one will be for fish the other is 2 buckets combined with the bottom cut out of one and screwed together (made a taller bucket to sit on and for the gear), the lid has had all but 2 of the "latches" cut off, easier to work in the cold with.[Wink]

The ice spoons have just had the foam put on as last weekend one of mine slid down the hole after I set it down on the bench[mad]

I hope to figure out a rod rack but not sure if it will be on the sled, frame or the bench.
Michael

I see the mother of invention has struck again, "nessesity"

looks workable, dose all the parts and tarp fit
in to your crate while in tow?

All the upper parts and tarp go in the green duffle bag.

The sleds windbreak worked well even though in a gust when I wasn't sitting on it it did tip over. Setup and tear down was simple and fast. So far I think it will work.

[#800000]You might buy a couple of the ice anchors used with the ICE CUBES and use them on the two back corners. You would strap them to the sled itself, not the frame. It should hold the sled in place and prevent it from being tipped over by the wind. Just a thought.[/#800000]

cheep ice anocrs,

use a one inch diamiter green branch section twice the diamiter of the hole you are fishing out of.

use disposable rope, "biodigradable"

cut one or two extra holes behind the sled

if you use one hole tie two sectioins of rope to your branch and shove the branch to the bottom of your hole and turn the branch so it wont come back up. a gaft works well.

then tie both ropes one to each corner of your sled.

if your hole freezes up you can cut the rope and be out virtualy nothing. if it dosnt you can retreive your ancor with your gaft.

if your not allowed to have a gaft in possestion, a forked branch works just as well when it comes time to retreive your ancor.

Changed the sled a little, mainly the rod holder and tool holder.
