Went out on Saturday 12/20 to a literal blizzard and temps around +6. But by scouting this past week, I knew the birds were around and I figured the weather would keep em flying. I set up at 11:30 and the geese started flying about 1:30. By 2:30 I had my three geese and couple of ducks to boot! I could have stuck around and shot mallards the rest of the day, but it was miserable and cold, snowing, and very windy. By the time I paddled my canoe back I was totally wore out. The last goose I shot sailed about 1/2 mile and I went hiking after it in a foot of snow. Luckily the dog saw it fall and I only walked about 1/4 mile and the dog did the rest of the work. What a relief! When I got back to my house the wind wasn't even blowing! Go figure. I could of went to the grocery store and bought geese for a lot less hastle, but I know they won't taste as good! Another good goose hunt in the books for 2008!
