Despite the winterkill at Antero last year, there are stil some 4+ lb trout, and more than most people think! And the "catchables they stocked in early May have been growing an astounding 1 1/2" per month!
It's gonna be a very good destination for ice fishing again this winter. Not as many pigs, but plenty of 16-22" very fat trout and many bigger. Some waaaaay bigger!
Early ice is best ice at Antero. It usually is marginally fishable for the very brave by around the first weekend in December.
