Lower Granite Dam is the uppermost of eight Army Corps of Engineer' dams on the Columbia and Snake rivers. The majority of steelhead crossing Lower Granite Dam are headed for Idaho streams.
The 2008-09 steelhead counting season at Lower Granite Dam began on June 1 and will continue through May 31, 2009. The Army Corps of Engineers suspends counting between December 16 and March 1.
Information on numbers of steelhead crossing the Columbia and Snake River dams is taken from data posted by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and is updated weekly during the counting season.
