Ok... sorry it's taken me so long to log back on. It's been a bit crazy at work lately.
OK... the walleye hole. ( I don't have a problem giving up the location of this one, it's a long drive and I doubt I'll make it back down there for quite a while so if your in the area, go check it out. It's a nice little spot)
The spot I found was right on the southern boarder of the state on the St Joesph River at Constantine. Go right through town (don't blink) when you cross the river, your there!
There is a little sand/gravel bar on the south side of the main bridge. (You could cast from the bridge but I'd recommend floating it.) The south side of the bar is nothing but weeds but there are some good holes on the north side. (See map).
We were bouncing jigs tipped with minnows off the bottom and were doing ok with a couple fish. But then a local teenager floated past and said the bait to use was soft plastic baits looking like a frog or tadpole. Wow was he right. We limited out on walleye in an hour. All were 18-21 (and quite tasty).
The hole closer to the bridge held some nice smallies but all the walleyes were caught in the larger hole just north of the little island.
Good luck !!!
Mike
