Phragmites control — an ongoing battle
What: Phragmites is nature’s equivalent of a horror movie monster;
it’s always lurching back to life! Fortunately, there is a way to
destroy this tough, invasive weed. The DWR is fighting phragmites with a
three-pronged, multi-year approach. The approach includes aerial
spraying, burning and follow-up herbicide treatments. It’s an ongoing
battle that will eventually remove phragmites’ chokehold on more than
15,000 acres of Utah wetlands.
When: See the three types of treatments at different locations
throughout July and August (please call contact to confirm date and
time).
Where: Waterfowl management areas in Davis, Weber and Box Elder
counties
