Fishing Clubs for Hands-on Help
#1

Hey there guys,

I was struck recently by the number of people obviously new to fishing who access fishing sites but are shy about asking questions. We here at BFT are here for everybody and I know pay special attention to the newbies seeking help. I feel confident that with all the very experienced and able anglers/moderators/members/visitors, we can answer just about any question thrown at us.

One thing a board cannot do is hands-on demonstrations of certain basis skills beginners need. If they don't have family or friends to help, a local fishing club may be a source of hands-on experience.

With a new fishing season starting, I thought listing a number of clubs might be a good idea for newbies and old hands alike. My apologies as most of the clubs here are located in the Los Angeles/South Bay area. For now, I'd like to keep it within the LA/Orange county area.

*Marina Del Rey Anglers(mdranglers.com)- Saltwater
KC Fishing Club- Saltwater
Glendora Rod and Reel Club- All inclusive
*Chicks who fish(chickswhofish.com)- All inclusive but
strong on Saltwater
*South Bay Lady Anglers(southbayladyanglers.com)- All inclusive
*Long Beach Casting Club(longbeachcastingclub.org)- All inclusive strong on Flyfishing
*Downey Flyfishers- Flyfishing
*Flyfishers of Orange County(ffcoc.org)- Flyfishing
*Cal-NUTS(Cal-NUTS.com)- Club website requires Japanese language
capability
South Bay Lunkers- Bass Fishing (10+ bass clubs in LA area)

An astrick (*) indicates there is a website that can be accessed by using Google.com and inputing keywords. Warning: Some sites are a bit difficult to navigate!

These are just a representative of the many non-profit fishing clubs that abound in the LA basin. If you have a club, won't you email me particulars and I'll keep this post updated. I may add some myself.
