Some of you might recall that I lost the tip of my new St. Croix Wild River Steelhead rod in the AuSable river a month back , this review is not about that rod but the extended warranty I purchased with the rod at Dick's Sporting Goods .
I will say this , it was an investment I'm very glad I made .
One call to the toll free help center and my clame was processed within the ten day period stated in the warranty , the Gift card for the cost of the fishing rod was sent regular U.S. Postal Mail and arived after another week as promised .
The Gift card could be used to purchase anything from Dick's Sporting Goods , I opted to replace the rod I lost .
One thing , the original extended warranty price was not included as part of the refund , you will have the option of purchasing a new warranty at your own expence when picking up your replacement .
I found the whole experiance so smooth and hassle free I not only repurchased the extended warranty for the replacement fishing rod , I purchased a 2008 Shimanno Stradic Fishing Reel with the same extended warranty on it as well .
Dick's sporting Goods issues a 90 day warranty on several of it's goods that dose not require an extended warranty purchase for replacement , sales staff will tell you what products have the option for the extended warranty during your purchase .
All in all , I rate Dick's Sporting Goods Extended Warranty a full stringer of fish !
