Picked this bad boy up last week. It's a Magnum Research in 17HMR. Now I just need a little time to go plinking! Stinking house.

[#808000]Very nice TKB! The .17 HMR is an awesome caliber for rabbits and varmits. I absolutely love mine. The only thing that ticks me off is the price of ammo, I have been ordering mine in bulk from Cabelas, that is about the cheapest way for me to get the ammo up here in Gods country.[/#808000]

It's based off of a 10/22 Magnum Receiver (no longer made by Ruger). Magnum Research custom makes them now. A few other elite shops will make a receiver for you, but they are pretty pricey. The only other "production" gun like this is made by Volquartsen.
The scope is a Barska 6-24X. Not my first choice, but it's got decent optics. I'd like to put a nice Leupold on it one day. I'd also like to put on a Kid trigger group as well, as it will accept any TG made for the 10/22.

Hey TKB how did you explain that to the wife. Maybe something like I needed a new nail driver to reach up to the rafters. gshorthair

I just told her that I needed a few new toys before Hillary bans them. She says she wants a piano for the new house...I told her not to worry, I don't think they will be banning any pianos in the near future!
