WSB Counts Up Today at Catalina
#1

Hey there guys,

Today saw a number of sportboat boats get good numbers of WSB at Catalina Island. Private Boaters have also been scoring on yellows, WSB and a big time bass bite in and up close. The bait situation is good to unbelievable. There's so much bait, mostly fined and a growing amount of squid, you almost worry that the bite might shut down with the easy meals around.

Hopefully this weekend will be the one where the WSB and yellow bite goes wide open. The local scene shouldn't be too bad with the bait receivers having anchovies, sardines and either live or fresh dead squid. Water temp in a number of places along the coast is hovering between 58 and 60 degrees.

Maybe next week more local 3/4 day sportboats will try Catalina. Hope hope.

If you go out this weekend, please send a report our way. I'm going to Catalina next Thursday even if I have to swim!
