Sick of winter ?
#1
O.K. I've finally reached the point where i'm going to make a snowman just so i can kick the everloving snot out of it [sly] .

I have a driveway lined with so much snow i can barely turn around in , there's two and a half feet of snow in the yard and a three foot bank of snow surrounding the lonehunter domicile . I could use a dose of that global warming right about now [cool] .

Now i ain't fibbing on this but i could swear i saw a group of penguins the other day walking down the road . turns out it was a bunch of turkeys all dressed up for a wedding or something [crazy] . I have deer hopping thru the yard like rabbits , rabbits are tunneling thru the snow like gophers , and the embarasement of my poor dogs having to go down to the road to do their business [shocked] .

Then the other day i went ice fishing and as soon as i drilled the hole out poped a new york strip dinner with a big shiney hook in it , yea it was tempting but i knew something was fishey about it , no baked potato [Tongue] . Ice fishing has been a little rough , my heater for the portable is frozen under a good foot of snow/ice mix in the back of the pick-up . all those quick thaws followed by artic temps made all that possible .

I'm thinking of turning the spare bedroom into a man-cave complete with a beach and a small pond and plenty of sunlamps . I did think about adding a TIKI bar and a bait store with fishing boat rental but that wouldn't leave enough room for the lifeguard tower with a bay-watch babe lifeguard to look at .

Well it's about time to get bundeled up and go make that snowman now , a skinny one . winters been kicking my butt latley and i'm not taking any chances with a buff snowman putting me in my place [pirate] .

Anyone fishing this weekend ?

No fishing for me. I'm out in North Dakota for the weekend where the temps have been in the single digits all week. I just checked the temp and it's 19. Wooo Hooooooo.. HEAT WAVE [cool] !!!

So no fishing report but here is my Midwest traveling report.

The other day I actualy saw a tumble weed. It crossed the road right in front of me. I was like [shocked] holy crap!! they actualy do exsit. I thought those things were just something you saw in the movies. If I see another one I might just stop and see if I can grab it for the kid to take to show n tell at school.

The other night while traveling down a 2 lane road, I had what looked like an entire heard of mule deer cross the road in front of me. They were more like a grey brownish color and had large dark ears. Didn't see any horns but there were some BIG ones mixed in there. Must have been around 25 animals. They wern't afraid of me at all. Took their time crossing the road at a slow walk about 25 yards in front of me. Only a couple of them looked towards the headlights as if to say "hey turn that crap off". I would have took some pictures but read on...

I was at Mount Rushmore on Wednesday where I completely screwed my digital camera. It was a big 2 degrees (without windchill) when I was there and when I took the camera outside the lense instantly frosted over on me. Then when I went back inside it fogged up and it's been that way ever since.[unsure] So no pictures.

Traveling out here hasn't been to bad. Have only had a couple days where the snow made a good mess and slowed things down. The wind on the other hand has been insane!!! Nothing but flat rolling open fields out here with nothing to stop it. If your not paying attention it will push you right into the other lane or off the road. I must have seen at least a hundred cars, truck, and semi's stuck in the median and along side the road.

It's been a good trip with some new sights and adventures but I'll be glad to get back to MI in a few more days. Be sure you have all that white crap gone before I get there. Break out the portable heaters and grab your wifie's hair dryer and get to work !!!

ps.. I havn't seen this much barbed-wire since I went to visit my brother in law (from the ex-wife) out in Jackson prison. There must be about a million miles of that stuff out here.

Find a gun store , usually they have silica packs for sale or maybe a extra silica pack from the gun packaging , put it and your camera in a zip-lock bag or container and it should suck the moisture out of your camera within 24 hrs.
Mulies up close and personal , what a blast ! I've seen a couple mounts before but would really like to see one in the wild [cool] .

You don't have to bring a tumbleweed back , we have them up here too ! Ours are small about 2' in diameter .

I just returned from a whitetailes unlimited banquet held in Coleman, mi. I am now the proud owner of a $260.00 pocket knife . The knife was free , it's all the raffle tickets that boosted it's worth up , LOL !
On five of the gun drawings i missed by one (1) number , if the last number was 6 i had 7 . A state trooper collected gun after gun with his tickets , what a luckey so-& so [cool] .
If you see an add in the papers for a husband for sale dirt cheap , rest ashured it will be me [blush] .

If anyone is interested in a million dollers inventory worth of snow for a snow cone stand , i'm selling the stuff by the ton [laugh] .

Have a great trip , come back safe !
