The West Magic Resort at Magic Reservoir has just posted a new fishing report. Unlike many resorts, their fishing reports tend to accurately represent the fishing. They report that fishing remains "terrific" and fishermen are throwing back the 2 1/2 pounders for larger rainbows. Brown fishing is slow.

4 of us went there this morning. 3 tube and a toon, me. We fished of of lava point and got there about 6, wish it would have been 5 am. It is loaded with small perch and bass.

I caught a 19' female bow as I got straight east of the island. Also had some very good hits along the shore to the north of the island. 2 other good trout were hooked by 2 others in our group, but none made it to the net. All the good hits were on sinking line with a large shinny minnow type fly.

We quit around 11 and a small boat with 3 anglers came in and trolled the bank and hooked a nice trout. Not sure what they were trolling with but I didn't see and deep running gear and thought I heard them say something about some kind of scent.

We looked at the water below the dam to float sometime, looks like fun. Hopper time[cool]
