Fished the Berry today from about 8:00 – 1:00 (trying to beat the weekend crowds). Caught lots of slot cutts and a few small Bows and one nice Koke that weighed 3lbs. 4oz. All fish were caught between 20-40’ down trolling from Haws point to near the ladders but I didn’t get really close to the ladders. I used Humdingers, UV squid, hoochies and a homemade spinner that a neighbor made for me all following sling blades. Fluorescent orange seemed to be the dominant color of the day. All fish were released except one small Bow and the Koke, which made for a yummy dinner tonight. When I left the water temp was 66 deg. And the air temp was 86 deg. I almost stayed instead of coming down to the heat of the valley.

Nice report Rodger, that is a very nice koke, did you measure it? Did it give you a good fight? I sure have a hard time catching kokes there consistently, sounds like you found something that works. WH2

That is a great koke. The berry has a few big 'un in it, they are just a little harder to figure out.

They are difficult to find. This one was 19" long I didn't measure girth, I didn't think of it. It did put up a fight. Those Silver Rockets love to tail dance and when I got him close to the boat he jumped so high that he almost landed himself in the boat. They will jump 3-4' out of the water. That makes it that much more fun to catch them.

I caught one that was 18 inches years ago, it was Sept and the water was very mossy. I took it right home and cooked it on the BBQ grill thinking it would be great eating. This was before the slot limit, so I also brought home a nice cutt around 19 inches, they both had the taste of moss and were not edible. I bet yours was a lot better. Hopefully I'll get a chance to catch some earlier in the year and find out. WH2

Kokanee are part of your 4 fish limit at the Berry. No size restriction.
