Strawberry 5/26 & 5/27

Day 1 we launched at 6:00am, it took untill 9:00 untill we found a good school in 27' of water. We droped tubes jiggs down to them, catching was good for 3 hours, then it slowed down so we relocated and never could get into some fast catching only picking up acouple every where we stoped. Never could find a consistant size, color or type of jig that worked better than the others. Ended up catching close to 3 dozen between two of us in 12 hours, the biggest was a 24" rainbow caught by my fishing partner Kent, I also caught a 19" rainbow and a 12" rainbow.

Day two was alittle tougher. We went straight to the area that produced the best on Saturday. We located a few fish but they did not want what we had to offer only caught a few in this area. After 5 hours of bouncing from area to area and picking up acouple every where we stoped we located some fish that wanted to play a little. They kepted us busy for a a couple hours. Ended up catching about two dozen in 10 hours between 3 of us.

The fish seem to be moving around alot, when locating a school the catching only lasts for a couple hours. It took us alot of moving around to keep over some active fish.

Nice report Mike, To bad it wasnt a little faster for you guys. It looks like there is a stick pushed down into that one fish, Just a little deformation? Or the Jig in its mouth?

What looks like a stick or a lure is Kent's shirt collar, first time I looked at the picture I thought the same thing. The bow did have a little kink in her.

HA69. there was a fourth rainbow caught by Damion's son. Caught all of the bows in the same bay with in a couple hours.

I'll be on vacation for the first time in 8 years in 9 days . I think I will be at the Berry for 3 days . I was hoping for the Gorge but fuel cost have killed that idea . I just hope my truck will pull my boat up there . Have tools / will travel and sleepin' with the bears . [cool] I'll be chasing bows , kokes and maybe a cutt or 2 .

Hey MGB, great to hear from you again. Your reports are always good. You seem to know how and where. I assume you are still using tube jigs as you are the tube jigging expert. I want to get up there with my kick boat this week. Last week I was kicking around renegade marina and south shore. Didn't do real well. Didn't mark too many fish either. Are there any areas where you found fish that can be reached by kick boat. PM me if you like. Thanks
