Emmett Ponds
#1
We decided to hit a local pond in our town of Emmett, Idaho. It's over by Sawyers Pond, but I couldn't tell you the name of it. I have no idea of the name and we had it all to ourselves, Sawyers was packed and just right over the bank in the background. We have never fished this pond yet and what a nice surprise to have found a sweet bass lake in our own backyard. DeeDee and I must have caught close to 25 largemouth in about two hours of fishing from the bank. I used a Texas rigged plastic worm and she used a split tailed crappie jig. The size varied from 9" to 15". We also must have lost another dozen or so, including a monster that broke my line after a nice long fight. (it was a fat pig) Here's a few pic's and maybe even some more tommorrow, we are anxious to go back. [inline pond1.jpg] [inline pond2.jpg]

This fish trip was so unexpected because it's in the town we live in!!! We've never had such luck fishing here as today!!! The weather was great with a slight wind and drizzle of rain. A little bit of overcast, just the way the fish like it! (he-he) We had a total blast, I caught one after another and Jessie was in fish heaven, there was a Largemouth on his line every time I looked his way!!! Yahoo, this is as good as life gets!!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness!!! I just want to catch a Bass bigger than 6 inches. Every where I go I get bluegill or hatchery trout of bait sized bass. Tell you what, in a couple of weeks when I get paid how about I drive out to Emmett and hire you as my Bass guide. Don't tell anyone about that pond, I want there to be fish when I get there. You think I am kidding but I am ready to cath a Bass like the ones in your pictures so bad I can taste it! I would have never dreamed that Bass like that were possible without a boat.

John, In Boise who caought yet another 4 inch Large mouth today.

You don't need to hire me, just be able to get to Emmett. I'll show you what I know, this week. I'll be available to walk the banks and fish up to Wednesday. Then I gotta work, and after that, I go to Brownlee for a while to kick those fishes butts..

Wow, that is a very generous offer and one that I plan on taking you up on. Unfortunately they have me working quite a bit for the next 5 days and my youngest son has baseball every afternoon this upcoming week so I will have to wait until after your Brownlee excursion. Will you be up there for Memorial day? I was thinking of going to Brownlee for a Memorial day camp out but figured it would be crazy busy. I will definitely try to connect very soon though. If you would like we could try to figure this out off list. Please feel free to email me at fishfur2007@yahoo.com and we can try to find a date that works for both. I know nothing of Emmett but it looks like it is pretty close to me in Boise so I shouldn't have too much difficulty getting there.

Once again thanks. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sounds good, anyone else from the Boise area feel like trying to hook up with us for some bass fishing. Maybe we could have a small BFT bass get together at this pond.

Now that sounds like a great idea. that would be some fun to meet others on the board and have a little fishing outing. I am good for just about any weekend myself. How about others???
