porcupine 2-17-02
#1
I went to Porcupine today nice weather, The ice was about 5-7 inches thickonce you got by the foot or two of fresh ice. At 8 am edges were iffy but by three it was almost a running leap. but once out there fishing was way slow we fished along the south shore for about 1 1/2 hours and did't get a bite, so we migrated back across and fished down by the dam on the north shore in about 50-60 feet of water and started getting a few light bites (very light) but only able to hook a coulple and never got either of them through the ice got one at the opening and he got off, the second was about two feet from when he got off. after the bites slowed off went went in to the little bay and caught a couple of bows but nothing to brag about. but like they say a bad day fishing beats a good day at work![Wink]
