Eleven Mile Reservoir on 08/29/06
#1
I fished Eleven Mile Reservoir on Aug 29th. I was trolling for Kokes and caught mostly (4) hammer handle sized Northerns and two kokes. The water temp was 66 degrees. Weeds were a bother in water shallower than 30 feet. The algae was very dense in some areas, my boat would leave a "trail" in the water as we passed through. There were a number of trollers working the west end of the reservoir, and few trolling the north shore near deer island. I saw one or two fish caught in other boats, some were trolling and some were anchored. I did see one fisherman cleaning about a 25 inch Northern. The fellow that was cleaning the Northern said he had been fishing for a week and hadn't caught a Salmon yet. He had a nice fishing rig and appeared knowledgeable about what he was doing.

The general store owner, near Rocky Ridge Campground, said that the Koke action was best in July so far this year.

Thanks for the report, RPG! I've heard that the pike fishing is really picking up there.
