got the boat out for the first time this year!!!!!!!!!

well guys I got the first run on the old baot this year today and she ran just fine! like and self respecting angler I took rods and bait, the waters is still murky and not the best for fishing but! we set the rods out and got a handfull of hits, the first hit was kinda funny, felt like a fish and it was gone, reeled in and the leader line was broke just below the swivel, kinda wired, new line was kinda heavy line to it was 3 pound test, well any how i missed a few hits, then it was on, hooked a small rainbow and got him in the boat, was kinda neat was takeing the hook out of his mouth and he had a nother hook in his mouth with the same color dyed spawn on the hook as I had just lost on the first hit, what a fishing tale for the first trip out on the big water for the year, any how missed a few more fish and a guy I meet through my web site was out with me and hit hooked a nice big fish gave him a nice fight crossed the prop a couple times and the ancor rope and I got it in the net, was a very nice whitefish prolly 3 pounds or close to it, I think my new friend will join BFT and post some pictures of todays outing, his name is fieldwalker on the internet, where I meet him, he is in collage in my home town he is from southern michigan and will be a great addition to BFT once he gets here, he is a avid bird hunter and bass fisherman, but with any luck I will make a big water man out of him, so fieldwalker if you make it here please add todays pictures to this post for all the BFT mambers. FISH ON!!!

First of all I'd like to thank WhiteDog for taking me out for my first whitefish. I really enjoyed our walk together (dragging the boat with our pants rolled up in what felt to be 8' water for 200 yards!).

The fishing was a little slow, but just enough action to keep our attention, even through a little rain.






Figured I'd throw one of whitedogs hounds giving chase to my poor setter.

my moter needed some adjustments but the guy had it back to me the next day . i'm ready !
you guys should start entering your fish in the 16 species contest on the main board and in the members photo contest .it's fun and it's free !!!!
our michigan contest is almost ready to be posted , we have some final tweaking to do but it is well worth the wait .
i'de tell you what the prize is but then i would have to beat myself with a old fish fry skillet [crazy].

I had a duck hunt down state that started like that ! the water went with the wind and we had to drag the boat out into lake erie to get to the ducks .
my legs hurt for a week .
I have a black lab and a cocker . the lab hunts and fishes with me most of the time .

myne is still sitting upside down on the trailer in the garden.

I normaly dont take the boat out till after the trout opener. but man the gills are already up in the shallows, "Pre Bed"
