Lure of the week review
#1
This week is the mighty Brushhog. Having fished this for a couple of years I did very well with it two years ago, but not so hot an item last season. Black with red flake did well in VT pulling it over pads. Nothing like a bass exploding a top water bait.Watermelon also produced if they didn't want the black. I usually fish them weightless with a #4 hook, some times Texas style to get it to the bottom quicker. Most hits where top water. Never leave home with out it.[Wink]

[size 3][black]I have never used this lure, I have used a rubber frog and rubber mouse and fished on top of beds of weeds and lily pads, tugging them radically till they come off the edge of foliage cover only to be hammered by bass and pike watching in anticipation from below.[/black][/size]

[black][size 3]If this lure is any thing like those they would be killer for that type of presentation.[/size][/black]

You use the same presentation, except I'll work it slow over the tops and let it sink into the pockets as well. Once spent two hours catching one after another and never left the weed bed.
