stearns wharf report 6/7/05
#1
got there around 2 or 230 cant really remember
baited up starting with whole squid using sliding rigs with 100# leader
after a few min got some nice pacific mackarel for bait, used the tails.
first fish was a nice bat ray, about 40 something pounds. that was around 3. around 320 got a nice leopard shark aroud 4 foot long and 25ish pounds. 3rd fish was small bat ray about 5. 4th fish was massive bat ray, took me about 20min to land, estimated at about 55pounds. 5th and 6th fish were a smaller bat ray and a 10 pound shovelnose.
scatter some smaller mackerel and jacksmelt in there and it was a great day of fishing. leaft around 7.
biggest fish on the dock taht day was an 70 something pound bat ray caught by angel, the guy who owns the bait and tackle shop on the pier
good fishin all!
