Batterson Pond is (like) dead
#1
I waent and spent the morning at Batterson Pond on the New Britain/ Farmington line. I tried to get there early, and spent a good 4+ hours fishing. I did not get a single bite. In fact, I have gotten only [#ff0000]one[/#ff0000] bite out of Batterson all season. [mad] I don't know why, but I have tried to take other people's advice and try all sort of stuff- and none o fit helps. SuppoSadly Batterson is stocked with Walleye, and there is supposed to be a lot of other fish in there too- but I don't know. My experience is from the state boat launch side off Alexander Road in New Britain (runs paralell to Farmington border).
For kit, I am using a Zebco spincasting set up, 1/4 ounce bullet weight ultra steel sinker, eagle claw hook, nightcrawler and various bobbers (red+white & lime green/ orange NOT CONCURRENTLY)
How are your Batterson Pond Experiences?

Welcome to the site aku94. [Smile] I haven't tried that pond yet. If your fishing for trout the water maybe to warm for them to be on the surface unless first light or dusk and their chaseing flys. I can't find my rule book, but if you look in there, they will tell you what fish can be found.Let us know what species your after and see if we can help. Walleyes are best caught at dusk and later.Thats when they put the feed bag on. Good Luck.
