We arrived at the Ventura Pier around 7:30pm. The wind was non existent, the water was around 62 degrees and all of our pier rat buddies were already there and having a good time.
We were all busy with the Walleye Surf Perch until the first reel went off in the deep end. A nice 4 1/2' Grey Smoothound shark came up.
Then another and another and another. Finally my reel went off. I had a 4' Shovelnose on the end but it got cut off from the pier gaff that my friend had. (Oh well)
We continued to fish until around 4:00am and left for Ciscos landing from there.[cool]
