Salmon Showing from Moro Bay to Newport
#1
Hey there guys,

The salmon catching may not be much of a deal here in southern California south of Santa Monica Bay but for the guys in upper SoCal, central, and northern California the fishing is 'ON'.

Although we get an occasional salmon from the canyons around Newport (Whoa be careful if you catch one there as they may be out of season.. and there's that little thing about a salmon stamp) and some from SM bay I guess the more consistant bite only comes down south to around Santa Barbara.

TubeN2 is the guy that is more familiar with the landings and boats servicing the Channel Islands and north for the salmon and of course other species.

I've fished the San Francisco style of salmon fishing in the salt and I'm never gonna be a fan of their system either on the water or once back at the dock.

Due to the cooler waters, the inshore bite has been a little slow. If the capt of the ships only knew that there were salmon around, they would stop making fun of my 6lb test and little glow bugs that I have been throwing out.

I went to the Channel Islands on Saturday. The water temp was still around 55 degrees. The Rockies were the only thing on the menu for the day.
