Mud Lake

I have fished Mud Lake twice the last week and caught 9 perch one evening and then on Monday we fished for several hours only catching three small perch. The ice is from 9 to 12 inches thick and safe within 20 yards of the open area. But fishing has been slow there.

Fished Magic Res on Tuesday with two of us catching 7 trout and two perch - the perch were each 11 inches.

New to fishing through the ice at Mud Lake. Was wondering about the perch and the differing sizes in your report. What size were the fish on the day you landed the nine fish? Hopefully, fishing will pick up.

We only got one "keeper" of the nine - it was about nine inches. The others were from four to six inches long. There have been other fishermen on the southwest corner where the canal runs out that have reported larger perch.
