#1
Well well well,

It's fishy time once more. Didn't go today as I fear the crowds. ha ha

Reports will be for both 9/7 and 9/8. The 3/4 day may go to Catalina and good calico fishing hope hope hope!

It's hard to believe that the fish just aren't with it this year. I guess we should have shared an agenda with them so that they would know what we expect of them.

I guess it will still be awhile before the bite will really pick up out there at the Cat.

I haven't been on the LB boats for awhile. Even San Pedro has had some low numbers.

Lately I've been more on the Channel Islands boats. They have a 3/4 boat called the Gentleman. It has been doing really good lately. They are still getting Cuda, Sandies and when times are slow they go rock fishing, Bocaccio, and Groupers. Also Ling Cods are good.

Hey there sp33dy25 and gang,

Ya I had computer troubles and aol busyyyyyness!

Sorry about the late reports!

9/7 did the front side of Catalina and I mean DID try. Nice dines, nice fish huntin', nice bonito bite, 1 3 pound yellow and some calicos.

Not so nice, non-existant current, hot, I mean reeeeeeeaaaal hot, not many calicos over 6 inches, and no wind, breeze I mean ziltch!

Went from east end to west and around a bit to the kelp but no go. Musta stopped 10+ times so we tried hard mostly up against the kelp.

9/8
Did the backside of Catalina. Went from the east end and also hit paddies along the way to the island. Did a bunch of stops on the way to the west end and home. Got two 35+ yellows (not me) a bunch of barries, bonito and some pretty good calicos. Sardines were good. Current was off and on!

Fished loooooong and harrrrrrrd getting back to the landing around 6:30.

Good huntin' little findin' but that's fishin'. Two really tough days at the rail!

as of your 9/7 report ... i know exactly what you mean..
i was out on 9/6..
theeeee hottest and dryest day i've had on the ocean.
had some current, but like i said "i swear the fish were on vacation too"... skipper took us from east to west then 5 miles out open water then back to the west.. then back waaayyyyy east..
and lemme tell u ...he was trying hard to find some fish.
and boy was HOT! spf50 wouldnt have saved you in that weather we had that day... burned to a crisp.. lol
atleast we got to see lots and lots and i mean lots of dolphins.
got a free show for a good 20 - 30 mins
they were every where.
sometimes i think they dont even use their fish finders anymore..
back in the days i remember the skipper tellin us where the fish were at and tell us how far to drop our lines.
but i guess that was back in the days.

(note to self: next time that happens.. need to remind the skipper to TURN ON the fish finder...otherwise some one might get smacked up side the head.. =P)

well all in all atleast you got to see some one catch some fish
our fish report for thatday was a big fat lie.
1 baby cuda was snagged and escaped as he was being brought up
saw only 8 calicos including mines that i tossed back (was jackpot winner if i hadnt tossed it back)
and about 20 bonitas and a good 25 burned anglers
