Horseshoe Report
#1
I fished Horseshoe last night for cats. That was my first trip to Horseshoe, so I don't really know much about the lake. I was told some pretty big cats (10+ lbs) were biting. I fished near the inlet on the south end of the lake in 3' - 10' of water on the bottom. I caught a few cats but none of them were keepers...all were under 12"! Maybe the guy that told me they were biting meant 10+ inches instead of pounds!?! Maybe I was just in the wrong spot. Anyone have any tips on Horseshoe cats?

Ive lived in the ft collins/loveland area for a long time, and all that time Ive always thought or known that horseshoe is a private lake, do you know someone that lives off that lake or what? Id love top be able to try it sometime....

Martin and Horseshoe are in Lathrop State Park, anyone can fish them. I've heard from the park ranger at Lathrop that Horseshoe does have cats up to 30lbs so keep trying try some bigger baits and deeper water.
