I fished with my stepfather at jordanelle from the shore starting at 6:30pm until dusk in the hailstone area. Perch were very aggressive. Caugh 27 perch & 10 smallmouth. A couple of the smallies were decent going almost two pounds. No huge ones. Did have a big one wrap me around a sagebrush and break me off. I was fishing with tube jigs the whole time. If anyone has kids now is a great time to take them up there and let them catch a ton of perch. Even though alot of the fish were small it was a blast !! Peace and good fishing

I hit the rockliff arm last week and the perch fishing was really good there also. over by that concrete foundation they were actually boiling and if you cast a jig tipped with perch meat into the boil you can pick up some really nice ones if it goes down far enough. I think the boils are caused by the bigger perch eating the smaller ones,

How big is "big"? 13 inches? Either they were eating small fry or baitfish. Ive gotta get up there and get me some perch action. Havent got any since ice on.

I was fishing by the main boat ramp. I was catching alot right near the docks then I went west from the dock and started catching bigger smallies near the sunken sage brush. This was near the hailstone boat ramp. I really like how clean the area was. It was refreshing.

If you don't mind saying, what size and color of tubes were you using? I have to help some scouts get their fishing merit badges and they need to catch three kinds of fish to qualify. Thanks for the help!
