We left the dock a little late of course because of me.. I was little to hung over and I wasn't in the mood in leaving early.. This trip I only had 9 Anglers because 2 guys couldn't make it but paid so we were all pumped up.. It was Zomees, Hitnrun, JP, Mark and his son Chris, Deluna's buddy, Todd, Bobup and me.. Only fricken nine guys and we had some good Albie Dope.. Our goal was to go about 105 miles so we had a long boat ride ahead of us.. Woke about 5:30 am and we were still ways away from our destination.. Talked to Deluna and asked if he wanted us to troll, he said no.. He wanted to keep going full speed and get down to the zone.. We were still about 40 miles away.. On the way down Deluna was in contact with a few boats that were further down then where we were going.. One boat was on a one day trip and was 120 miles from home.. UNBELIEVABLE!! It was the Cherokee Geisha.. I couldn't believe he was down this far.. He must of left real early to get down there or he's just fast.. About 7:30 am he called us and said just get down here.. It was another 20 plus miles so Richard kicked it even faster.. We got to the zone around 9am and about 20 min later HOOK UP.. It was game on with fish boiling around.. I think we got about 5 bait fish this stop.. We boxed the area all day with jig stops most of the day.. Our best stop was 11 fish.. We only had about a 2 hour low point but besides that it was good fishing.. The hot jigs were the Cedar plugs black and purple, natural and a little black and purple jet head.. My troll rod had the cedar plugs on it and brought 7 fish on board.. Bobups had the little jet head and brought 6 fish on board.. We had limits by 4pm and we were still fishing.. We started working our way back because Deluna had a 5am trip the next day.. We knew if we stayed out we could of really killed them. And of course, the Mustang had two stops for 67 fish in the evening.. On the way home we hit some paddy's but only managed 16 Yellows.. The paddy's were hard to come by this trip..
I fished Iron all day but these fish wanted bait.. I had to step down to the TB level and fish bait but when I did the bite was pretty much over.. I did hook two on bait but farmed them both, god I hate using bait.. But hey, I did get the only Iron fish all day.. I got two Albies on the Mega bait and 3 Yellows on my Tady 9.. I tried the Cheater troll all day FOR NOTHING.. Even when we got hooked up I soaked it way out for nothing.. Where did my Bluefin go?
The weather was bumpy going out but was really nice on sunday.. A nice smooth, sunny ride home..
Total count: 9 Anglers 45 Albies that ranged from 10-23lbs, 16 Yellows that were an average of 10lbs
Once again Deluna is the hot boat.. Deluna was the first sport boat to catch Tuna this season and the first sport boat to limit out on Tuna..
GOOD JOB DELUNA!!
If you haven't fished this boat you must give it a try.. They catch fish 99% of the time.. The crew is A+.. The only bad thing about the boat is the bunk room but if your not claustrophobic then you will have no problem.. There is a good 7 bunks though..
We had a great group this time.. My new buddy Mark and his son Chris had limits.. Chris is only 14yrs old and he had a blast..
Thanks to Deluna, Jimmy, Jake and Wardo
Pics will come later
