Walleye Workshop
#1
I attended the Walleye Workshop sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Anglers and DWR last night. It was held at the Utah State Park Marina. It was one of the best workshops I have ever attended. The presentations by Tom Pettingill, Wes Snyder, and Kent Erickson were just excellent. I learned a lot.

I also enjoyed Don Wiley's report on Deer Creek, Utah Lake and Yuba. The night before the workshop the DWR took a net sample of fish from Yuba. The results yielded nice healthy trout, and perch. There were a few carp in the net sample, and 2- 24" pike. Unfortunately there were no walleye! What a great disappointment!

I was there also. It was very informative and solved some of the mysteries about walleye. I would highly recommend this seminar to anyone wanting to catch walleye. Make sure to catch the one in slc. Peace

Sounds like they may have to put some brood stock in Yuba when the forage base gets well established. If they do that, I wonder where they'll get them from? If they can pull perch from Jordanelle and plant them in Yuba, then I would think that they could test the walleye in Starvation and then plant them Yuba too. It sure would make good use of all those fish they destroy after the gill netting they do every so often.
